The Equal Opportunity Commisison’s Human Rights Day panel discussion on the topic Has political correctness gone mad has been rescheduled for Thursday March 15 2018 from 5.30pm to 7pm at the State Library Lecture Theatre.

Professor at UWA and commentator for The Australian Peter van Onselen will join panellists former Australian Human Rights Commission President Gillian Triggs, Federal Member for Cowan Anne Aly and former State Member for Southern River Peter Abetz to discuss the audience’s questions on the topic.

“Thursday 15 March is the beginning of Harmony Week here in Western Australia so it is the perfect time to reschedule an event like this,” said Acting WA Equal Opportunity Commission Dr John Byrne.

He said he was pleased that Peter van Onselen was able to join the panel replacing former editor in chief of the West Australian Bob Cronin.

“Peter regularly comments on issues such as freedom of speech and how it applies to politics, so he will be a valuable contributor to the discussion,” Dr Byrne said.
